Personal statement:

We became a part of Mirada last year when we moved here from England. I'm happy to say that I have an unbelievably amazing 2nd grader! While I have not served on the PTO I did start the social media outreach to help bridge the gap between school-wide events and parental communications for our school in England. My husband is Australian, and I'm American, so living in England it was difficult for us to understand many of the events and cultural references of the school. This is when school communications became an important part of my life.

Ensuring that all families are able to understand and participate in the school life of their children is important to me. I wanted to be a part of Mirada PTO to help other families be informed and involved. I'm hopeful that after a full year with Mirada that I have experience with the school but still keep a fresh perspective with ideas to positively affect the future.
