Personal statement:

My family has been part of Mirada since 2013 when our oldest daughter entered second grade. She is now a sixth grader at Pueblo Middle School.  My youngest daughter is in third grade this year.

I am a Phoenix native, however, I was raised in San Diego. We moved back to Arizona in 2007 and have called Chandler home ever since.  Over the years, I have enjoyed keeping busy as a regular volunteer in my girls’ schools and classrooms.  In addition to being a member of the PTO, I am a Library Media Technician in the Mirada Library.

This is my third term as a Mirada PTO Board Member.  I began as 4th Quarter Chair during the 2014-15 school year, and am starting my second as Art Masterpiece Chair.  I find Art Masterpiece to be one of the most rewarding ways to be involved in our school.  As the Art Masterpiece Chair, I work with parent volunteers and teachers to introduce students to world-renowned artists, their artwork, all while creating fun art projects.  I also have the opportunity to plan the “art side” of the annual Arts & Science Night. This is a fun and interactive school event that includes the 4th grade Science Fair, hands-on science and art projects, and our Art Walk, which exhibits the projects created by students during the Art Masterpiece lessons.

I always enjoy meeting fellow Mirada parents and families, so if you see me around school or the community, please feel free to stop me and say hello.

I hope you have a wonderful school year!

All progress takes place outside the comfort zone."  - Michael John Bobak
